Communities in Schools of Central Texas celebrates and honors Principal Doug Agnew from Live Oak Academy High School with the 2026 Champion Award. 

The Communities In Schools of Central Texas Champion Award honors individuals who go beyond partnership and become true advocates for students. Champions do not simply support CIS programs; they actively help create the conditions where students can thrive. They use their influence, leadership and relationships to remove barriers, align systems, and ensure students are seen, supported and valued.

This award recognizes the people who stand shoulder to shoulder with CIS, especially in moments that require courage, persistence and an unwavering commitment to young people. By lifting up champions, we affirm that transformational change happens through relationships and shared responsibility.
