We’re honored to share Riche’s story as part of our I AM series: artist, father and community builder. Richard Samuel is a former professional football player turned self-taught artist and owner of RichesArt Gallery in East Austin. After retiring from international football, he founded the gallery in 2021, transforming it into a vibrant community hub. As the only Black-owned art gallery in Austin, he curates diverse art exhibitions, hosts jazz nights, and supports local creators.
